Meet Malissa
A little bit about my journey so far…
Growing up in a big Italian family, I was incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by amazing cooks. Food was more than just a meal in our house; it was our love language, the way we connected, celebrated, and supported each other. Some of my favourite memories are the shared moments around the dinner table, with laughter, stories, and the delicious aromas of homemade pasta, Nonna’s secret sauce, Mum’s stuffed artichokes and Dad’s BBQ filling the air.
With my parents running a fruit and vegetable store, I was introduced early to the beauty of fresh, vibrant ingredients. My childhood was spent helping out. From bagging tomatoes to slicing watermelons to restocking shelves, I was doing it all from the time I could barely walk. This experience instilled in me a deep respect for the quality of what we eat. My dad was meticulous about selecting only the best produce for his store, and I remember how appreciated and respected he was by his loyal customers. Quality truly matters.
When I began my journey into nutrition, I knew I wanted to go beyond the basics of food as fuel. I became fascinated by the link between diet and mental health, especially as someone who had experienced anxiety firsthand. Experimenting on my own led me to understand the powerful connection between food and mood. I discovered that the right ingredients could do more than nourish the body; they could calm the mind, lift the spirit, and create a sense of joy and wellness.
For so long, food has been seen simply as something to help us lose or gain weight, boost energy, or support immunity. But I believe it’s so much more, and I’m passionate about changing the way people think about food. I want to make nutrition simple, accessible, and deeply fulfilling. Something that truly enriches our lives. I hope to encourage the joy of home cooking, using quality, seasonal produce to share with those you love.
Through my recipes, podcast, and the guidance I share, my mission is to help you connect with the joy and healing power of food. To me, food is life. It’s the foundation of health and happiness, a source of comfort, and a way to experience life more fully. I hope to inspire you to find your own moments of magic in the kitchen and to feel supported and uplifted by what you eat, every single day.
I’m grateful to have you on this journey, and I can’t wait to continue sharing my love for food, nutrition, and life with you.
Love always,
Malissa Fedele (BHSc)
